Version 2.0 of Firefox WHOIS extension

The best WHOIS add-on for Firefox just got a little better. We've added some new features and changed things around a bit:

Perform WHOIS on type-in domains

Previously, you had to load a website before being able to see the WHOIS results. If you weren't browsing the page you wanted to lookup, it was necessary to perform the additional step of visiting it. This is no longer required, the tool will perform a WHOIS on the domain entered in the address bar, not the active website address.

More intuitive location for the WHOIS button

Previously, we had implemented the button as an ordinary button next to the search box, but this isn't the most intuitive location since the tool uses the URL in the address bar for its WHOIS query.

This has been corrected now. In the next version we plan to allow you to choose between a button (which will be repositioned) or the address bar icon by adjusting the add-on settings.

WHOIS lookup from context menu

Do you need to perform a WHOIS lookup on multiple domains at once? Now you can, using just your right mouse button. Any domains you've selected will be looked up and the results will be displayed in new tabs.

Pretty new graphics

They're not useful, but they sure do look good :-)
